Why cockroaches are bad:
1. Food contamination:
if you're keeping your food open, cockroaches will start eating that. They cannot eat the entire food because of their capacity but by eating that or crawling over they contaminate the food by dropping dirt, bacteria or even laying eggs. Then if you eat such foods, that is a high risk of getting ill.

2. Allergy: While you're sleeping, cockroaches could crawl over your body and thereby could leave their saliva, dirt or bacteria and may cause some allergies. Some of the allergies may be skin rash, sneezing or coughing and may give Asthma.
3. Leave traces: They contaminate the environment by leaving dirt, bacteria, and droppings which can cause food poisoning. Apart from that, it could trigger some allergies or even Asthma.

Remedies:
1. Clean Regularly:
Regularly clean your house especially your kitchen. Fix the leaks in your bathroom and kitchen and keep the area as dry as you can. And do not keep the garbage open. Do not keep food in open, seal them in containers tightly. Use of vacuum cleaner is recommended.

2. Neem: Add 1 tablespoon of neem oil to a cup of water and apply this solution in the affected areas, preferably at night. Alternatively, put this solution in a spray bottle for convenience.

3. Mothballs: Place each mothball in the affected areas or the place where you don't want cockroaches to reside. But beware, don't put too much mothballs around you because it can cause some allergies and some other health issues. And also make sure to keep them away from children.

4. Lemon: Mix lemon juice to the water and use this solution on the areas where cockroaches usually wander. Cockroaches hate the citric smell.

5. Borax: it acts as slow poison for cockroaches. Scatter Borax powder near the sinks and pipes, in the bathroom or in corners. Alternatively, you can mix Borax with sugar and place the mixture, on a piece of paper, in cockroach-prone areas. Cockroaches like sugar so it attracts them and makes them eat the mixture and thereby eating Borax dries their exoskeleton and kills them eventually.

6. Bay Leaves/Garlic: This common ingredient in the kitchen can be a solution to get rid of cockroaches. Simply put them near the sink, bathroom or in any cockroach-prone areas.
